Join Journey Home Community for a fun-filled, interactive day of learning

Sessions will include:

1) An overview of who we are at Journey Home - our history, mission, vision, and values

2) Who qualifies as a "refugee claimant" and what the settlement process in Canada entails

3) Culture Shock and Mental Wellness

4) A Refugee Story: Hear from a member of our community as they detail their own journey

5) Mutually-transformative relationships: volunteerism, boundaries and cross-cultural relationships

This orientation is the first step in entering into community with members of Journey Home's refugee community.

The Orientations is for two groups of people:

1) Individuals or groups volunteering with Journey Home Community (complimentary registration). This includes church/community partners in JHC's "Communities of Welcome for Refugee Claimants" initiative.

2 ) All others are welcome, but we ask you to pay $40 to help us cover the costs of delivering this orientation. Please contact olivia@journeyhomecommunity.ca for details.

Registration and more information for the June orientation will be available following the April orientation date. Please check back soon.
